Shoulder Strike

Application & Counter from a Push Hands situation

Application:

Generally the distance has to be close to the opponent.

1. From  4 Square opponents Press, guide their top arm out and up using grab on wrist. Using Snake Creeps Down guide their arm behind you, (keeping you center back) bend forward so your shoulder is under opponents’ armpit. Your grab has to turn to palm up against underneath of your opponents’ wrist. And stay loose. Point their arm to floor. Shoulder forward. The rotate is in the shoulder. If you keep your mind in your arm it will not work and you will lock up your joints in the arm.

2. From being pulled forward, sink down and shoulder into opponents body.

Counter: From 1. When being pulled up from press, bring your other arm under your armpit and guide away the opponents’ shoulder using your waist to turn. You must follow with the arm being grabbed otherwise the energy will not be there in your other arm because of empty/full effect.

Counter from 2. As opponent comes in with shoulder guide there shoulder away by pulling past the opponents arm and guiding away the shoulder.
